All engineering technologists and technicians, except drafters, not listed separately. An engineering technician's role is to assist engineers with the development of a new product or solution. Engineering technicians may be asked to run tests, record data, collect materials, or fix parts. An engineering technologist is a professional trained in certain aspects of development and implementation of a respective area of technology. Technologists use parts and products to construct, maintain and repair systems and equipment an engineer develops. They may help implement existing technology to solve a problem. A technologist applies a fundamental understanding of math and engineering and uses strong practical skills to complete their work. They must be familiar with engineering principles and have experience with a range of technical skills.
